Une pièce circulaire by Gertrude Stein, as published in a French-language softcover by Édition Traversière (Paris, France) in November1985. This is the first French-language edition of Gertrude Stein's A Circular Play, translated into French by Gérard-Georges Lemaire, and accompanied by 17 works by Arthur Aeschbacher, Albert Ayme, Brion Gysin, Jiri Kolar, and Tom Phillips.  Gérard-Georges Lemaire also contributes the afterword, "Un théâtre sans corps." Book layout is by Marchand, and this was printed by c.i.e.  Photograph by Benoît Meynial.

In addition to the trade edition, 30 Deluxe copies were released, each with an additional open folio containing numbered prints of the 17 works for the book, as well as an original work of art by one of the five artists.

The copy shown is #12/30 of the Deluxe copies, with the full folio of numbered prints and one of the three images Brion Gysin created for the book. Gysin did not sign this work, and it is numbered #12/30 in pencil on the verso. This artwork by Brion Gysin is a collage with painted acetate overlay.

The archives acquired this copy from composer and archivist Frédéric Acquaviva during a visit to his London home. Acquaviva acquired this from the publisher in 1985.
