The two-volume catalogue for Écritures dans la peinture, an exhibition at Centre National des Arts Plastiques, Villa Arson, Nice, France between April and May 1984. Layout by Claude Mézier, editing by Nicole Martel, and translations by Angela Delmont, Louis Évrard, and Denise Laroutis. Phototypesetting by Ateliers Janjac, and printing and photogravure by Imprimerie Arte.

In volume 1, Brion Gysin’s biography is given, followed by a statement on Gysin by Maurice Benhamou on page 100, alongside a photograph of Gysin. A Gysin calligraphic drawing from 1959, Grande place Marrakesh, is on page 101.

In volume 2, a short essay on Gysin is on pages 48–49, with a reproduction of a page from a 1968 “Naked Lunch Scrapbook.” This is within Gérard-Georges Lemaire's essay "Je te dirai que la peinture est chose mentale."
