Photocopy Packet for "Dreamachine Plans" (c.1986)
[item partially shown]
Denver, Colorado, US: Temple ov Psychick Youth (stapled photocopies), c.1986.
11" x 8.5", 12 pages, rectos only.
Dreamachine, a photocopy packet (later generation) of materials which were used to produce the Temple ov Psychick Youth (Denver, Colorado, US) chapbook Dreamachine Plans (1986).
Before the chapbook was published, the plans for the Dreamachine were transmitted through this set of copied pages, which T.O.P.Y. suggested that people would copy, sell for $3, and send $1 back to the organization.
It is an interesting item to compare to the first printing of Dreamachine Plans.
According to Tom Banger (Denver TOPY): "If memory serves, Genesis sent these pages to TOPYUS in early 1987. I probably photocopied a couple of additional pages to add context and content. In 1990, I created a typeset version in booklet format under the imprint of OV Press. We printed 500 or 1000 of these to sell during the 1990 PTV Detour and mail order. There were a lot left over after the Denver station folded - they were given to PTV at their 2015 Denver disconcert. Some were sold at the show, and I believe a lot of them wound up with the message from the temple film crew and were given as incentives for GoFundMe backers. Temple Press issued a slightly fancier one which I never saw. Long story short, there are probably four major versions: the original Temple UK version that would have been photocopied on A4. The US version photocopied on 8.5 x by 11 paper (there are probably a couple of different variants of this, with white, orange, or yellow covers. The white ones are generally not cardstock, and the contents may vary over time as we found additional information to slip in.) Then the US printed booklet, and then the Temple Press edition."Contents:
